At 22.29 ...Our daughter Mia is getting three today.
At 22.29 according to the Estonian time.

In my mind she is already a big girl and if every day brings a new word to describe my perceptions and feelings about her, the today’s one is “independent”. I just wrote back to a friend who congratulated me on Mia’s birthday and used this word.

Of course Mia is still not a girl who would walk out of the door with all the confidence of a mature person without asking to put her shoes on but the signs are there. She is not anymore only mommy’s or daddy’s girl. She has her small friends or at least playmates at the kindergarten; she insists that things should go in her way – from clothing to music. She even will be soon balancing well at the skating rink. She is pretending to be a singer singing together with the songs from the CD player. She is inviting us to dance with her.

If one of us is few days away we always find that the same small Mia has changed. The first impression is that she is different outwardly but soon you discover that she has learnt new words or acquired new tests and habits (could it be that she calls herself “bad girl”).

Some people collect pictures, some people live with memories, and some people blog about their lives to leave a trace behind if they want to turn back to the past days.
I wonder what Mia will remember of today when she is surrounded by people loving her – her mother, father, the Bulgarian grandmother and a bunch of kids who congratulate her in Hungarian with the birthday.

It is not easy for her to accumulate the knowledge and make sense of all realities surrounding her. It is not easy for us to be her guardians and guides but I believe that we have God’s help in this most exciting endeavor a person could dream of.

(written on the date of Mia's birthday)Plamen Peevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17506843213867005098noreply@blogger.com
